April 29 -30, 2005 - 20th anniversary annual meeting
and banquet will be held at Double Tree Downtown Hotel,
Houston, TX and hosted by Dr. Jagmeet S. Soin. Business
meeting will be held on Friday, April 29 from 1.30 - 6 PM
followed by a banquet in the evening where a new project '
Punjab Educational Initiative' will be launched and good
entertainment is promised |

March 7, 2005 - The application forms for the
academic year 2005 - 2006 for Sikh Education Fund are
now available on our website. Go to the 'FORMS' tab and
download or print the appropriate form with instructions. |

September 8, 2004 - Sikh Education Fund committee
announces the names of the 2004 - 2005 scholarships, grants
and loan recipients. 2 scholarships were awarded on behalf
of the NASMADA and three scholarships came through various
endowments. A total of 17 college going students received
various forms of financial assistance |

June 1, 2004 - Professor Birinder Pal Singh of
Patiala University, Punjab, is awarded a grant for
presentation of paper at the Canadian Political Science
Association conference at Winnipeg in June 2004 |

January 24, 2004 - 19th special annual meeting was
held at Chicago, IL and hosted by Guljit Singh |

1-3, 2002 - 18th ASP annual meeting was held at San
Antonio, Texas and hosted by Dr. G.P.Singh. |
| April 13th,
2002 - Dinner co-hosted by ASP and Sikh Communications
held at The Marriott San Francisco Airport.

14, 2001 - The 17th Annual Meeting of ASP, which was
postponed in September of 2001, was held in Chicago, IL.

2001 - Following the recent bombing of the World Trade
Center and the
Pentagon, there has been a significant backlash against
many minorities including
Sikhs. Many of you have been working hard to counteract
the media portrayal.
After consultation, we have reluctantly postponed the meeting
of the ASP to be held on the 29th. The future date
has not been selected yet, but we plan to see how the events
of the next few weeks shake out.
We regret the inconvenience
caused to all those who were planning to participate and
ask for your understanding. We are passing thru
a difficult time and I would urge you to support the individual
efforts going on in your localities

-The Association announced plans for its next Annual Meeting.
The Guest Speaker will be Satjiv Singh Chahil, Chief Marketing
Officer for Palm Inc. The meeting will be at the San Francisco
Airport Marriott |

- The Sikh Education Fund announced its Awards for 2001.
A total of 22 awards were made including 4 scholarships.

2000 - The Sikh Education Aid Fund announced that the
North American Sikh Medical and Dental Association, at its
meeting during the Thanksgiving holiday season, voted to
grant us $4000 for the coming year (2001 to 2002). The awards
would be presented at the next scheduled meeting of ASP
or NASMDA. The awards will be called the "NASMDA Scholarship."
