- We have no central figure of authority in this
country who can be relied upon to give direction to the Panth
in the light of the Guru's teachings.
- We have no people or organization who can travel to
remote areas of this country to care for our Sikh brethren in difficulty.
- Although there are over 95 Gurdwaras in this country, we do not have a Central
Secretariat to
coordinate their work.
-
While the first generation of Sikhs in the USA are
reaching the end of their productive lives, there is no mechanism in place
for them to pass on their expertise and resources for the betterment of
the community.
- There are a large number of Sikhs who are holding nonprofessional
jobs and facing discrimination; we need a legal aid program that
looks into this or tries to help them in a coordinated fashion.
- We do not have welfare
organizations that will
care for the disadvantaged in our community through illness,
accidents or layoffs.
- While the Association of Sikh Professionals
will not be able to solve all these problems, we try to choose
those that we can address and stimulate others to work in this
direction. We are united in seeking only the welfare of the Sikh
Panth and are not in this for personal gain.
- How will we do this? We confine our
projects to those having immediate impact on our community. We
make 1-2 people responsible for each project and promote
regular communication among all ASP members.
- We need YOUR help and urge you to join us
and support our work. Click "Forms"
